I have noticed that the days are getting shorter and the breeze is getting cooler. The beginning of that familiar rustic season. It’s a season of change and opportunity. This past month has been a productive one, laying new foundations to support what I am building day by day.
Having the opportunity to return to the school halls that are a huge part of my existing foundation. Now, looking back on all I have done since graduating eight years ago, one lesson stands out brighter than the others.
The lesson of creating an opportunity for oneself when one has not appeared before, to take a chance on something bigger. However, in order to seize it, we must put our comfort behind us and be willing to put our true selves out there for all to see. Because if my time in those halls, on the mats, and in the gym has taught me anything, it is to remain humble, disciplined, and most importantly, truthful, not only to those around us but to ourselves.
As I have said before, if any of us cannot find a way to get where we want to be or achieve our set goals, then a new way must be forged. Part of life’s meaning comes from accomplishing the things we never thought we would achieve as individuals. It would seem to be noble to achieve something on your own, but as time passes, the realization of needing help from others is unavoidable. The old saying, “it takes a village,” was said for a reason.
Paving the way for ourselves is our only option; no one is coming to hand us anything. Want it? Then go get it.
Peyton.
There will be an announcement and addition coming to the site in the coming weeks. One that allows me to give back to you, the readers, and one that benefits everyone who chooses to take action.
